WHY PAY A HIGH COMMISSION WHEN YOU SELL YOUR HOME?
Most companies want 5%, 6% or even 7% to sell your home. Even though these percentages are a reasonable amount to have a Professional Realtor market your largest investment, I understand this commission comes out of your profit or the equity you have built up in your home. In order to save on those commissions, some people try the For Sale By Owner (FSBO) approach. The major problem with FSBO is the buyer isn’t willing to pay market value, because both the buyer and the owner are trying to save the same commission. According to Realtor.org: The median home price for sellers who use an agent is 16% higher than a home sold directly by an owner; $230,000 vs. $198,200; there were no significant differences between the types of homes sold. "While many unrepresented sellers are motivated to save on paying a commission, we think the price difference speaks for itself," In today’s Buyer’s Market, FSBO just doesn’t add up.

The Seller pays the commission for both the seller’s agent and the buyer’s agent. When you list your home, you agree to pay the listing real estate company, Global Realty Marketing a commission to sell your home. We agree to market your home, and part of the marketing is to get every other Realtor in the area to try to sell your home. We do that by putting it in the MLS, and agreeing to share the commission. The higher the commission, the harder the other Realtors are going to work to sell your home. Some Realtor’s offer a lower commission, but they still share the commission 50-50. My 1% discount comes out of only my half of the commission, I still pay the other Realtor 3%.
